Rules 規則

Explore Your Backyard is a physically demanding event, as such, all participants must agree to follow the rules of co-organizers the Taiwan Beast Runners, as well as the rules specific to Explore Your Backyard. Furthermore all participants must testify to their well being and sign a waiver form prior to participating in the event.

Explore Your Backyard Rules & Equipment 重要事項

Please note that not following the rules below or equipment requirements may result in disqualification.

1) Mandatory Gear

• Runners must start and finish the race with the gear listed below.
• Random checks will occur during the race, including at the finish line.
• Any missing items may result in disqualification.

Necessary Equipment 25km

Hydration Pack with minimum capacity of 1L
Mobile Phone – fully charged (please provide the phone number on entry disclaimer)
Whistle
Course Map
GPS device (can be smartphone app)
Bib with number and timing chip (secured to wrist for scanning at checkpoints)

Recommended Equipment 25km

Gloves (for technical sections)
Waterproof Jacket (note the weather conditions on race day and prepare)
First Aid Kit
• bandage for bandage or a strapping, min. 100cm x 5cm
• adhesive tape
• 3pcs povidone-iodine swabs
• 3pcs medical patch
• antihistamine (very recommended, compulsory for participants with any allergy)

2) Prohibited and Recommended Behavior

Littering is prohibited
Running with other people’s BIBs or giving your BIB to another runner is prohibited
Wearing a hat with a visor is not recommended (use a buff for sun protection and to keep cool)
Wearing shoes is mandatory
Taking photos in narrow areas is prohibited
Please do not block faster runners especially in final sections when different running groups merge together. Find a safe place to step aside and let faster runners pass through. Please inform runners ahead of you if you want to pass them.
Please be respectful of hikers on the trails (we share the course with regular hikers)
Please be careful when crossing roads or running along roads
